-Commitment to play blues music

Instructors

If you geek out on blues dance idioms and want to share the knowledge that you have accumulated, or if you love to dance and want to help others feel confident on the dance floor-you should teach!  ABD pairs interested dancers  with trained instructors  to teach a blues dance lesson.

Responsibilities include:
-Pre-planning lesson/meeting with veteran instructor
-Adhere to the blues aesthetic and blues idioms

Early is on time, and on time is late. That’s your motto. If you want to see the ins and outs of organizing this is for you.

Responsibilities include:
-Putting up the dj table
-Put 2 chairs behind the dj table
-Turn down the lights (if applicable)
-Set out the flyers, QR codes, and sign-in sheet

The survivors of every event. This one is for the late-night crew. The people who close out the night-literally.

Responsibilities include:
-Stay until the end of the dance or return at the end of the dance
-Take down the dj table
-Reorganize the tables and chairs within the space
-Connect with the Austin Blues Board members  on duty to see if anything else needs to be completed for everyone to go home
